Thanks for this info! I've been trying for a couple of years to solve my ball escape problem. The most secure device I have is my original CB-6000s with the 2nd smallest ring and the smallest post. I can still slip out, but not that often. It's just that the cage is too hot and it's clunky to put on and take off. I got a couple of cheap Cobra style knockoffs that are always uncomfortable, so then I got a Baddassworkroom resin cage that has a scrotum bar. It's the BRS-25(60/38) and I think every component is a little too large. The 48mm standard round ring is definitely too large. Trying to figure this out is like a puzzle with moving pieces, so your insight is very helpful!

I'm still fairly new to chastity so forgive my ignorance, but how would one measure your ball gap? Is there a way to take that measurement yourself or would you have to try different rings till you find the right fit?

Unfortunately that's the case – there's no way to measure. Fortunately, most of us a perfectly happy with the standard range of gaps (10 – 14 mm). And for the rest of us, well, if you are comfortable wearing a snug ring, you can get as big of a gap as you like and it doesn't matter because it's your flaccid penis in the ring that keeps your balls in place.

The people who are screwed are the ones who prefer oversized rings and need large gaps – they are forced to wear straps to keep their cages from just falling off them.

Of course the use of straps has become so normalized that I see people who have yet to even buy a cage ask about which straps to buy. It's like comes on, aren't you even going to try to get a good fit.

I just started and need help figuring out my size. I'm not even sure what a good fit for length is.

Different mfgr have different ways of measuring length. Some want you to measure the top of your shaft held horizontality to the ground, others want you to measure as you hang (which will be significantly longer) so it's best to follow their measuring guide.

But, length is actually the least important measurement as long as it's not too long - in other words err on the side of being too short. You want your cage to be at most ~15 mm shorter than your flaccid length

That was a little ambiguous.. I mean if you're 100 mm, you want a cage no longer than 85 but you'll also find 50 comfortable.
